More recently, Banner discovered he was dying of a degenerative disease and began to exhibit a new personality when transforming into the Hulk. This "Devil Hulk" claimed to be a pure evil version of Banner’s nature, using Banner’s debilitating condition to take control of the Hulk’s body. It was further revealed by Doc Samson that Banner’s psyche is fragmented into thousands of personalities, some more dominant than others are.
