This was my first read on anything like this, and I remember news coverage of so many of these events that it was like unpleasantly reliving times from my teen years. McVeigh saying to his defense attorney “I’m not brainwashed” without any kind of prompt or context sounds suspiciously like someone who got brainwashed. By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. He was sentenced to serve sixty-three years in prison but the sentence was appealed and reduced to fifty-three years. I’m not sure if I would recommend my friends read it but I find this kind of stuff endlessly interesting and this is maybe the best books in this weird genre of history and investigations so if you’re into some slightly esoteric subjects and suspect authority I’d think you’ll get a lot out of reading this.

During his trial, his defense attorneys argued that Bremer was schizophrenic, legally insane and had "no emotional capacity to understand anything;" but prosecutors argued otherwise and said that, while perhaps the man was disturbed, he knew what he was doing when he attempted to kill Wallace and had done so to get attention, even calculating his arrest and subsequent media coverage of his trial. This book went way beyond reasonable expectation and the section on mind control was a special treat and proved to be one of the better parts of the book for anyone who has done their homework on the subject.

This book ties so many cultural threads of the 1990s together and weaves them through the stories of Timothy McVeigh and the Oklahoma City Bombing. Rather than taking a concrete stance on McVeigh and if he was really a lone wolf or not, Painting presents all the possible facts and lets the reader draw their own conclusion.

incredibly informative and exhaustively sourced review of underdiscussed info on Timothy McVeigh and the crazy unethical shit government organizations did before, after, and during the events of the Oklahoma City bombing. Was Tim McVeigh a Manchurian Candidate who was the byproduct of MKUltra-style mental and physical manipulation that stripped him of agency?at times, however, i'll admit that i skimmed a bit, and the lack of brevity could get a little exhausting. Eventually, in September 1995, after he threatened to kill more people because outlets had delayed publishing his writings, the New York Times and Washington Post complied with his demands. The Bennewitz story is told in , which has been added my ever growing reading list since reading Aberration.

Do yourself a favor and immerse yourself in the vibrant PAINFULLY DETAILED world Wendy Painting has blessed the world with. After a jury found him guilty, at the conclusion of his sentencing hearing,Bremer was given the opportunity to speak and said, "[The Prosecutor] said that he would like society to be protected from someone like me. When you deal with parapolitics and conspiracy theories (however you want to define that phrase), you not only face scrutiny from institutions and people eager to debunk your analysis, but you traffic in uncertainty. It delves incredibly deep into not just the perpetrator, but to those who knew him in some fashion to varying degrees. They range from the popular Lone Wolf version of events to narratives that are almost too wild to believe. If you're really interested in knowing about McVeigh, who he was, what he did and didn't do, who was behind his actions and whether what the media says happened actually happened or did it just "appear" to happen, then you need to read this book. While the most common IDs led to "ongoing altered states of awareness," when in a "more advanced" and extreme stage, 'the delusional stage,' an individual's ability to distinguish reality, fantasy and illusion is impaired, causing them to suffer "vivid delusions" and confusion about whether they are actually awake or dreaming. I urge those who generally consider themselves averse to "conspiracy-theory" to give this book a chance.

In 1962, at the age of twenty, Kaczynski graduated from Harvard and enrolled in a doctoral program at the University of Michigan, where he earned a PhD in mathematics.A legitimately great read for anyone who considers themselves a conspiracy theorist or for anyone who is interested in conspiracy theories as a cultural phenomenon. After graduating high school, he enrolled in college, where he was remembered as a "strange, aloof and argumentative" fellow who "rarely talked to anybody. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The next year he joined the Civil Air Patrol in New Orleans, a right-wing-leaning organization, but surely one perceived as patriotic.
