Then developments of marzipan and modeling clay followed by orange soaked honey and a huge load of nuts such as macadamias, hazel and Brazil nuts. It’s absolutely perfect in cocktails - I love to mix it with lots of ice, fresh lime juice and Fever Tree ginger ale, it makes for the perfect summer drink, smooth as, and a total shoulder relaxer :) I’ve not bought any other rum since first trying this over a year ago now as it’s hands down the smoothest I’ve tried.

Flor de Caña Distillery (Spanish for "sugarcane flower") is owned and produced by Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua, which was founded in 1890 - although Flor de Caña was not marketed commercially until 1937. In fact, if I’m not sipping the sugarcane-based spirit neat, I am likely to mix the seven year añejo with club soda and a squeeze of lime; refreshing, light and a thirst-quencher that shatters the time-old stereotype that rum is only used in sweet drinks. In 2017 it was recognized at the International Wine and Spirit Competition as the Global Rum Producer of the Year. Flor de Caña is renowned as one of the best rums from Latin America, having won more than 150 international awards since 2000 and has been the most award-winning rum brand during this period.It celebrates five generations of rum-making history at Flor de Caña, and would make a great addition to any luxury rum collection.
