The electric toothbrush comes with a traveling case, making it seamless for travel or brushing on the go. Also included with the device is a suction cup holder to attach to a countertop or sink. Our tester found this to be a useful addition that worked great in the bathroom to keep the toothbrush from moving around. One of the few critiques our tester had with the product is that it took some time to figure out exactly how to use the toothbrush the very first time. But after that initial use, the tester found the toothbrush to be relatively straightforward. The Genius X has a detachable power adapter that is used for both the stand and the travel case. With the iO, there is a power cable hardwired into the charging stand and a seperate power adapter provided for the travel case. As for battery life, we found both toothbrushes last around the same amount of time. You can expect two weeks of use between charges, but this will depend on how long exactly you like to brush your teeth for. The absence of a battery life indicator or built-in sensor, make it challenging to monitor the remaining battery life.

The toothbrush’s handle felt just right and the small, round brush head was a refreshing change, allowing for better access to tight spots and crevices. The multiple settings and extra features (like the tongue cleaner) offered a diverse brushing experience. While navigating these settings might require more effort than some would prefer, for tech or oral care enthusiasts, it's a great addition. Post-brushing, teeth felt plaque-free, although the taste was less minty, likely due to the smaller brush head. Almost all Oral-B brushes have a timer built-in which will give an audible tone via a pause in the brushing at 30 second intervals and then at the end of the 2 minute cycle. The setup with the iO is in principle more advanced, but unless using side by side and being extremely meticulous, the differences are quite hard to tell.They are accessible only from the smartphone application and cannot be chosen from the toothbrush handle itself. Changing settings mid-brush requires stopping the brush, interrupting the flow of the brushing experience.
