It’s easy to dismiss nylon-strung guitars as tools for beginners, but every model on our list of the best classical guitars will serve any player worth their salt to a decent degree. All these guitars are built to a good standard, will allow the user to play dynamically and expressively and will sound great in any live or studio context. If you have been playing guitar for a long time and have more of a professional ear on you, you will notice that this guitar sounds more muted and doesn’t project as well as some guitars. Pros There is an interesting variant to the C40 which is the CS40 (don’t miss the ’S’ presumably for ‘small’). This is the very same guitar otherwise but its scale length is what Yamaha terms three-fourths. Or, 580 mm instead of the full 650 mm. This will help adults with small hands or older children who’d like to lay their hands on the famed C40 guitar. Which is better? Both are similarly priced. Both are aimed at beginner players. Both use similar woods more or less. It’s easier to lean on the side of the Yamaha C40II for its excellent performance over the years. Its precision build and consistent quality are hard to ignore when you’re starting out. Even though the C1M has its legion of followers for its lighter feel and open sound, the scales tip ever so slightly in favor of the older model.

One of the least conventional looking options on here, the Yamaha Silent Classical Guitar is great for those that don’t want the volume usually associated with an acoustic instrument. Playing this unplugged, you can hear it, but people in the next room probably won’t, so you’re not going to bug them whilst you’re perfecting your scales and exam pieces.

Almost every model comes with a cedar or spruce (top wood) variant. The top wood is considered the most important part of the guitar for it has a direct influence on the sound. Cedar is known to have a warm, sweet sound. Spruce has a strong treble and sparkle. Which you find attractive is entirely a subjective matter. CG102 Yamaha CG102 classical guitar Feature

Steel-string acoustics and electric guitars are fitted with strings that are physically much tougher, so when you’re pressing down on them, they can hurt a little when starting out. Nylon strings are softer so hurt less, which means you can play for longer stretches without your fingers needing a break. Which body size is best?As found in more expensive guitars, the nut and saddle are made of bone, not plastic. And like every Cordoba guitar, the C7 is built light. The C7 is great value, if not a downright bargain at this price point Based on Segovia’s legendary Hauser 1937 model, a concert guitar that is handcrafted for player nuance and control

Yes, the C40 guitar does work as advertised; this is a beginner’s guitar and the C40 works exactly as any other beginner guitar does. The sound that the C40 produces lays a great foundation for future playing, as it serves as an instrument that’s sufficient enough to In the end, I would suggest you go with a classical guitar if you want to learn classical music and want to develop your classical technique from the get-go. A high level of craftmanship and great attention paid to detail results in instruments of outstanding quality. The C series guitars provide excellent cost performance for beginners and young learners with exceptional playability and superb tone. Durability, Stability The combination of spruce and meranti tonewoods works wonders and gives the guitar a smooth and warm sound.Collection and delivery costs are included for the first 2 years in the event of an item becoming faulty Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. There’s a lot to love about the poetically named GA5TCE. Okay, we’re being sarcastic about the name (who thinks these things up?), but this is a whole lot of performance guitar for not a lot of money. We are nearing the top end of the scale now. The Master Series from Cordoba is hand made in California, unlike other models which are made in China, and represents top of its line. Yamaha’s GC42 is a step above the GC32 we saw earlier and can be your concert guitar. This is not the company’s top of the line – there are a handful of models that extend up even further (in price too, of course.) These models are handcrafted in Japan. I have owned the Yamaha C40(C40II is a successor of this) for 10 years. And for the price, it has been amazing! Still sounds great, playability is solid and durability is something amazing!
