An LCD information display on top of the body, a feature never before available in the EOS xxxD/Rebel digital line. The last previous consumer-level body with an LCD display was the 35mm film-era EOS 3000N/Rebel XS N. It features a new 24MP CMOS sensor which features Canon's Hybrid CMOS AF III system for use in live view and movie recording. The sensor, along with a DIGIC 6 processor, offers an ISO range of 100-12800 (expandable to 25600). The autofocus system has 19 points, all of which are cross-type. OPPO's mid-range smartphone aims to provide a sophisticated camera system at an attractive price. Andy Westlake sees how it measures up. Although our EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM test lens isn’t Canon’s sharpest optic, it was good enough to demonstrate the Canon EOS 750D’s ability to resolve plenty of fine detail. Sharpness can be adjusted along with parameters like contrast, saturation and colour tone in the camera’s Picture Style options. Images also respond well to sharpening in Photoshop, thanks to their low levels of grain noise.

At the time of the 750D’s launch, Wi-Fi and NFC were pretty much the standard connectivity options for cameras like this. These days, NFC has on the whole disappeared, while always-on low-power Bluetooth connectivity is very popular. This system uses sensor-based phase detection points to enhance focus speed and accuracy in Live View and is said to be close to the speed of Dual Pixel AF as well as being up to four times faster than the EOS 100D.Having said that, the older 750D does still hold a few key advantages over the 200D including more focus points and better flash coverage. Its kit lens is also a little faster, so which model you choose might come down to how you intend to use the camera.

The Canon EOS 750D (Rebel T6i, as it’s branded Stateside) succeeds the EOS 700D/Rebel T5i introduced in 2013. It features a new 24.2-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor with an ISO range of 100-12800 (expandable to ISO 25600), as well as 5fps continuous shooting. Servo AF (autofocus) in live view mode, allowing for continuous autofocus during shooting bursts. (The 750D/T6i only supports Servo AF when using the optical viewfinder.) Both 750D and 760D camera uses advance Hybrid CMOS AF III sensor and a 19-point AF phase module sensor, The Hybrid Sensor AF system gets activated when a user switches to live view shooting or records a video. All of the current Canon EF Lenses are compatible with the Canon latest Hybrid AF sensor and will do AF perfectly without an issue. [6]

On May 8, 2015, Canon USA confirmed a sensor issue on some 750D and 760D cameras which resulted in the appearance of dark circular patterns on the captured image under certain shooting conditions. Canon provided instructions on how to identify potentially affected cameras and offered free repair to any affected camera. [12] [13]

The 750D arrives two years later than the 700D, and while there’s little to separate them from the outside, there are some significant changes inside. The autofocus sensor has been upgraded, up from 9 to 19 points, all of which are cross-type for increased sensitivity. It appears to be the same autofocus sensor used in the Canon EOS 70D and the Canon 7D before that. It’s still short of the 39 points offered by the Nikon D5500, though, and its diamond-shaped array of points covers a smaller area in the centre of the frame. One-Shot, AI Focus, AI Servo, Live View (FlexiZone - Multi, FlexiZone - Single, Face detection, Movie Servo), ManualA light, polycarbonate body camera may become a disadvantage if you’re looking to mount giant fast lenses. But if you want to sample some of Canon’s cheaper high-quality options, such as the bargain 50mm f1.8 lens, they’ll suit the Canon EOS 750D perfectly. Even without scrutinising, images from the Canon EOS 750D are impressive. With the Picture Control colour options set to ‘Standard’, colours are vibrant without looking oversaturated or unnatural. The camera’s evaluative exposure metering is also extremely reliable, and though it shares the same 63-zone system as the 700D, there’s now a 7560-pixel RGB sensor to account for colour as well as light approaching the infra-red spectrum. There’s no creaking or warping of the parts that make up the Canon EOS 750D’s shell, and it has an aluminium skeleton underneath the plastic to help keep everything rigid. A slightly lower-end construction also keeps the camera light. Turning to the rear, the 750D’s optical viewfinder reveals 95% coverage of the frame as opposed to 100%. This is typical of a consumer-level DSLR, but it’s important to remember that when composing an image more of what you see through the viewfinder will be captured at the edges of the frame.

Canon is still using its trusted 24-megapixel sensor as the base for a lot of its entry and mid-range DSLRs, so you shouldn’t feel too short-changed going for an older model like the 750D. Frequent users of video are catered for with a 3.5mic port at the side and full HD video (1920×1080) captured at 30,25 or 24fps. There’s the option to lower the resolution (1280×720) and shoot at 60,50 or 30fps if preferred, while another useful video feature not often found on beginner DSLRs is the option to manually control sound levels in-camera. The 750D’s viewfinder is almost identical to that used by the 700D, though magnification has reduced from 0.85x to 0.82x. Viewfinder coverage is unchanged, showing 95% of the image frame. Although this is a match for the Nikon D5500, the Pentax K-S2’s viewfinder boasts 100% frame coverage, making it easier to accurately compose your photos.Banding issues caused by Auto Focus pixels - DSLR, Mirrorless & General-Purpose Digital Camera DSO Imaging".
