Sweet OUD & (SANDAL)WOOD-PATCHOULI with amazing drydown. Opens with a floral-citrus burst with patchouli, saffron & oud touches, that deepens into a caramel & amber-oud heart, all resting on a musky amber-wood base with vanilla & patchouli touches. Overall, I get a sweet oud with faint patchouli touches in the opening with a creamy sweet oud heart on a spicy-sweet & creamy (sandal)wood-patchouli base that's to die for. The drydown reminds me of other sandalwood-patchouli drydowns, although sandalwood isn't specifically listed in the notes. Fantastic performance, that might be difficult to wear in the summer heat.

Versatility: 8.0 (An "all-around" versatile unisex fresh woody fragrance; That's a strange comment for an oud perfume, but Blue Oud is one of the most wearable oud fragrances I have ever tried)

Then you spray it on. This was my first middle-eastern fragrance, and my first smell of anything with the word "oud" in its name. But to be frankly honest I only apply 2 spritz max, I was trying to build my tolerance to Oud only bec it’s very basic where i live and maybe building my way up?

Uniqueness: 9.0 (Quite unique and enjoyable for an oriental woody fragrance due to its somewhat easy-to-perceive "blueness")Over all I give this fragrance a ten/ten. It's really lovley,well blended,etc. It's a more wearable middle eastern Fragrance. I love, love, loooove this stuff. As of now, I have the entire opulent line,and here's what I will say. Out of ALL of them, I feel like this will be the most mass appealing to men. This definitely leans more masculine. This feels very fresh, clean, aquatic and almost a shaving cream/after shave type of smell. This to me is the absolute best oud-centric fragrance you can buy, and it's astounding how cheap it is. I honestly think this smells nicer and more expensive than Ombre Nomade. Not that this is a clone of it or anything, but that is often seen as the king of oud-forward scents so I usually compare them to that. I get completely different notes than what's listed albeit similar to some folks further down below. Like all my Lattafas, I'll let this one rest as well for a few weeks and then will test it again in the fall on both of our skins. I'm hoping it will be less sweet and suffocating in cooler weather and the cinnamon will be less dominant.

My Advice: If you are not familiar with oud scents, do buy them only after trying them; I recommend Lattafa's "Blue Oud" to ALL oriental fragrance lovers due to its singularity of being semi-fresh. If you really like oriental woody fragrances, you don't even need to try it before buying it. I do believe this fragrance will conquer you with its uniqueness. For days I wondered what perfume it smelled like... It's so familiar I was sure I wore it before, loooong time ago...Compliments: 8.0 (This fragrance it's not a compliment magnet, but it is alluring and an above-average pleaser, especially because it contains an oud note that has not been disguised by citrus, flowers, fruits and spices) Wearability: 8.5 (A three seasons scent for both outdoor or indoor, day or night; just avoid the summer hot days; You also have better choices for winter nights; it presents a scent different from the average oriental woody fragrance that usually targets cold weather only) Presentation: 8.0 (no apparent faults, elegant flask in a glass strong "azure" colour and a good metal cap. I just think it is a bit strange for the cap to have the word "opulent" written in a similar way as in Lattafa Opulent Oud. Is this a new "Opulent" family of perfumes by Lattafa? I guess it is!)
