Melissa and Doug Bernstein are manufacturers of children’s educational toys. They set their company up in 1988 in Connecticut, and it has grown to quite a size. They employ over 1000 people these days and have factories in various parts of the world, including China. We care about sustainability and use wood whenever we can because itâs renewable and durable. To ensure the world has healthy forests AND high-quality wooden toys, weâve committed to planting 10 million trees by 2030.

With more than three decades of experience, weâre a brand you can trust. Our safe and durable toys inspire imaginative play and are designed to stand the test of time and be passed down through generations. Hopefully, this Melissa & Doug Learn-to-Play Classic Grand Piano Review can help inspire the next generation. There are plenty of instructional videos on YouTube that can help your child learn how to better play the piano if your child is more of a visual learner. The keys are marked for you so it makes it easier to play. The keys are made for smaller hands so that its easier for small children to play. Once your child masters this small piano, they will be able to work themselves up to a regular piano at a very early age with ease. This little funky Melissa & Doug 11315 Grand Piano grand piano is designed for children to learn and have fun. I am 6 foot tall, and whilst that isn’t considered that tall by today’s standards, it does mean that I couldn’t sit down on the included seat to test this one out. It’s very small and wouldn’t benefit me of course. However, that didn’t stop me having a go to find out what this little grand piano has to offer. Sound Remember, fixing things with your kids takes always takes extra time. Be patient, take breaks, and make sure they are safe. It's more about the journey and connecting with them as you repair. You may not even get your project completed. Have fun along the way!

GREAT GIFT FOR KIDS FROM 4 TO 6 YEARS: The Melissa & Doug Learn-to-Play Classic Grand Piano makes an exceptional gift for kids from 4 to 6 years. Add the Melissa & Doug Band-in-a-Box to round out the hands-on, screen-free experience. The overall quality looks very durable, and let’s face it – it has to be! When your child sits and plays this you want to be confident that it won’t break or damage easily. You can tell that the whole piano including the stool is very sturdy, and the keys can of course be hit really hard without any problems. For every prodigy, there will be thousands who never want to see another instrument as long as they live. That is no way forward. And probably reflects the parent’s selfishness at what could come their way if they can make the child successful. It is not just a music thing. This kind of pressure-parenting appears everywhere, in sport and even academia. Your child will be able to play with this toddler piano on the bed, table, or floor. Its also brightly colored to stimulate your childs vision. However, this toddler piano is more expensive than other models and doesnt come with the needed AA batteries. What We Like

I bought this piano for my 2-year-old daughter for Christmas this year, and I was sorely disappointed. I had never seen one in real life, but I assumed the quality would be fine since I generally like M& D toys. I was wrong. Straight out of the box it wobbles on the ground, the note guide is just a cheap piece of paper that was mounted sideways, and the sound is really tinny. I guess that’s what you get for an inexpensive toy piano, but I was hoping for more. If you are building for kids, then it needs to be as sturdy as possible. We’ve all been there with children’s stuff that hasn’t been so good. And especially with a piano that stands on legs and has its own bench. It has to be well-made and secure. The company name is simple and reflects a certain innocence. No flashy corporate presence is required when the aim is to get kids away from computer screens and into music. In 2017, an American private equity firm, AEA Investors, acquired them. With a portfolio that has included over 5000 educational products, this piano is a step towards inspiring young minds. Children can be quite messy, which means youll need to clean the toy piano from time to time. Its important that you never spray a cleaner directly on the piano or you may damage the inner workings of the instrument. Instead, youll want to wet and ring out a rag that has been dipped in soapy dishwater. You could also spray a lint-free cloth with the cleaning product of your choice. Use this to wipe down the piano. Immediately dry the piano off afterward with a clean dry towel.

Many will start. Some will fall by the wayside. But that doesn’t matter. Maybe those that do drop out for whatever reason will gain just a little bit of knowledge and a love of music. And one day, they may pass that on to their own children. There will be some, of course, who will come through at varying levels of ability. They are all important. The keys are very light as you would imagine, and your child would find them very easy to play. They also have a kind of springiness to them as well which gives it a nicer feel. My initial impression is that the keys are designed to be able to hit them hard, so if your child is feeling a little aggressive and wants to give them a good old bash – then let them loose! Features The littlest musicians will enjoy exploring concepts of high and low notes and loud and soft. More experienced “maestros” can follow the color-coded songbook to learn nine child-friendly favorites! Our two year-old and I sat down to play some piano only to find that the top of our Melissa & Doug "Learn-to-Play" Toy Piano wasn't working. Instead of the usual happy "ting-a-ling," it was more of a "clang- clank." This set us off on a three-hour instrument repair adventure! See inside the Melissa & Doug Toy Piano and learn how to fix this piano if the same thing happens to you.

Who Is It For

This toy piano features 24 keys, 8 percussion instruments, 4 musical instruments, and 22 demo songs that your child can listen to and sing with. You can adjust the volume and encourage your child to use the play and record or karaoke modes for more family fun. The piano features 3 legs that you can fold for convenient storage. The bench seat is stable and, as we said, non-tipping. Children can’t then tip it over by leaning one way or the other. It measures 22.55 by 10.3 by 25 inches and weighs a decent 27 pounds giving it a secure and stable feeling. It is best suited for children aged about three to six years, but it will depend on the size of the child. To start learning early, it comes with a songbook of well-known songs. It is color-coded with the keys making them easy to learn.

If you are curious as to how this piano sounds, watch this video. You will also get to learn baby shark, and what child in the world doesn’t love that song! This kids grand piano isn’t meant to sound great and have the latest speakers with headphones connections and such, like you would get on an electronic keyboard. It’s designed to look good and make the child want to sit and play. It does look great, and although I would recommend an electronic keyboard if you wanted a better sound, you may just find that your child is more drawn to something like this because of how it looks.

Watch your little one as he or she experiments with the toy piano. If your child shows an aptitude for music, you may want to introduce them to other instruments or even hire a music teacher to give your child music lessons at home. The karaoke feature will teach your child about rhythm and tempo, and following the lights will help them learn the melodies. Due to all the functions that run simultaneously, the batteries dont last for long. Moreover, the microphone isnt as sturdy as the rest of the piano. What We Like The most important thing you need to consider before buying this piano is that it doesn’t make a synthetic recorded piano sound. Instead, it makes a bell noise. This could put some parents off from buying this, but I understand where they are going with this. The concept of this piano is for children to have fun, and although I was surprised with the bell sound as I was expected a recorded piano tone, I can honestly say that I completely get it.
