Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton, England on November 15, 1958. She received a degree in English from Birmingham University in 1980. After having taught in primary and secondary schools for several years she began to write full-time. Dhami has published many retellings of popular Disney stories and wrote the Animal Stars and Babes series, the latter about young British girls of Asian origin. She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats. Annie comes looking for her father then, and notices Bouncer right away. The puppy greets her happily, and Rachel offers to let Annie hold the leash. Soon she and the puppy are playing with Annie’s shoelace, and Kirsty notices a sparkling in the air around the two. Annie’s father reappears and asks who the puppy belongs to, and Rachel explains he’s up for adoption. Annie is excited, and her father says they can talk to Mr. Gregory once the bouncy castle is put away. Lauren thanks the girls and tells them to say goodbye to “Barney” as she and Sunny return to Fairyland.
