The song " Scentless Apprentice" by the American grunge band Nirvana, from their 1993 album In Utero, was inspired by the novel Perfume. In an interview, lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain described the novel as one of his favourite books, which he re-read ten times and kept near him. [19] Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl said his friend’s death was “probably the worst thing that has happened to me in my life.”

An interview with El Duce from the 1998 doc Kurt & Courtney. He was found dead two days after this was filmed. The singer’s perturbing suicide and death scene naturally inspired conspiracy theorists. She told the House Of Mystery Radio Show that her “results do not support the conspiracy theory that Courtney Love authored the bottom portion to make it look like a suicide note.” Gus Van Sant loosely based his 2005 movie Last Days on the events in the final days of Cobain's life, starring Michael Pitt as the main character Blake who was based on Cobain. [145] This book is not a biography of Kurt. It's a memoir of the last three-and-a-half years of his life when I worked with him. Not everyone who is a genius is a nice person to other people, but he was. His darkness was all directed at himself, not at others, and I thought that there was a portrait of him that I could add, which would broaden out his legacy.

Retrieved April 8, 2012.Journalists Ian Halperin and Max Wallace published their investigation of any possible conspiracy surrounding Cobain's death in their 1999 book Who Killed Kurt Cobain?. Halperin and Wallace argued that, while there was not enough evidence to prove a conspiracy, there was more than enough to demand that the case be reopened. [130] The book included the journalists' discussions with Tom Grant, who had taped nearly every conversation that he had undertaken while he was in Love's employ. Over the next several years, Halperin and Wallace collaborated with Grant to write a second book, 2004's Love and Death: The Murder of Kurt Cobain.
