Quick note: This pair of reviews will strictly be covering the audio quality, extra tracks and overall presentation of both box sets. Bruce Springsteen's first new studio album in five years takes his music to a new place, drawing inspiration in part from the Southern California pop records of the late '60s and early '70s. Heart-Shaped Box is presumably about Cobain's heartbreak, and it is such a storming monster of grunge song - with a spectacular guitar solo - that it absolutely deserved to be lead single and easily ranks amongst Nirvana's best numbers like Smells Like Teen Spirit, Come As You Are etc.

The three LPs come housed in a nice jacket that features a selection of photos and pictures from the Super Deluxe version, and all the LPs are encased in generic anti-static sleeves. Language - Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description. They wanted to do something unapologetic, raw and in someways bring Nirvana closer to their debut album Bleach. For example, I altered my long-time copy of Bleach to more accurately depict how the album was presented during it’s initial release by removing the last two tracks (“Big Cheese” and “Downer”) from my digital copy of the recording. Original album artwork has been expanded to a premium tip-on gatefold jacket for the first time with new 10-inch jacket art.All image and audio content is used by permission of the copyright holders or their agents, and/or according to fair dealing as per the UK Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Had I not picked up a reissue of this album it would have been something that I just would have continued to fail to appreciate. However, it was mastered for shit (just like everything else on the Nevermind box set) so picking out the differences between the new mix and the old were nigh-impossible. I thought they were going to go half-assed once more, and just create another needless cash-in at the sake of one of the most important and greatest albums of my generations.Celebrating 'In Utero''s 30th, the 8LP Super Deluxe features 180-gram pressings of the album and 5 b-sides and bonus tracks newly remastered, 2 complete concerts from Los Angeles '93 and Seattle '94, plus 6 bonus live songs from the tour: 72 total tracks - 53 unreleased tracks. The subject matter is mostly stark and dark with a lot of the songs describing depression and a couple of disturbing themes and it is comparable to the Manic Street Preachers' Holy Bible (the last one to include Richey James’ lyrics while he was still alive). Celebrating In Utero’s 30th, the album pressed on 180-gram vinyl plus 5 b-sides and bonus tracks pressed on a 10-inch have been newly remastered from 96kHz 24-bit transfers of the original analog tapes by original album engineer Bob Weston. The set comes with a download code (again, something the Nevermind 4LP set did not have), but it’s not your standard download code. The discs are even enclosed in such a way that the chances of them spilling out and getting all scratched up are minimal.
