About this deal

He picks up a 12 year old girl after she is orphaned in a brutal fashion, takes her in, and starts to teach her his trade, how to kill, even taking her on jobs.

The only light in her family is her little brother, while the only person who notices her is the man who lives down the hall from her apartment. When Mathilda learns of his profession, she wants to hire him to avenge her little brother, and when that doesn’t work, she decides that she’ll be his apprentice, and learn how to do it herself. Oldman is the least inhibited actor of his generation, and as this deranged detective, he keeps absolutely nothing in reserve.Léon and Mathilda form an unusual relationship, as she becomes his protégée and learns the hitman's trade. It is the best Luc Besson film that I have seen to date, combining a box office crowd pleaser with art-house sensibilities.

As such, if you’re somebody who has yet to really embrace the 4K movement, this release likely isn’t one for you. Léon: The Professional [a] is a 1994 English-language French action-thriller film [6] [7] [8] [9] written and directed by Luc Besson. It’s another memorable screen villain that goes into that elevated pantheon where characters like Trainspotting’s Begbie and Die Hard’s Hans Gruber reside. Besson on: His promise to make only 10 films, Working with Natalie Portman, Jacques Mayol, directing". Hal Hinson, of The Washington Post, also praised Oldman's acting, saying "Reno plays it minimally; Oldman splatters his performance all over the screen. On Rotten Tomatoes the film holds an approval rating of 74% based on 66 reviews, with an average rating of 6. format in the audio menu, but the rest of the extras are conventionally in the extras menu, and it looks like they are taken from previous releases.

The cinematography is wonderful, and he presents a vision of New York, in terms of colour and composition that we rarely see in films set in that city. The additional material is found in the film's second act, and it depicts more of the interactions and relationship between Léon and Mathilda, as well as explicitly demonstrating how Mathilda accompanies Léon on several of his hits as "a full co-conspirator", to further her training as a contract killer. In New York City, 12-year-old Mathilda (Portman) witnesses her family being gunned down by psychotic government official Norman Stansfield (Gary Oldman) and his team of corrupt cops. The majority of said footage further shines the spotlight on the moments shared by Leon and Mathilda, which adds a few nice touches to the overall narrative of Leon. Richard Schickel of Time magazine lauded the film, writing, "this is a Cuisinart of a movie, mixing familiar yet disparate ingredients, making something odd, possibly distasteful, undeniably arresting out of them".
