This book had me laughing, Lauren is funny and witty but also she made some really good points about singleness and dating within the church environment. The novel doesn’t take itself too seriously either, even as death is briefly explored when Mae’s grandmother passes. I’m not really sure who this book is for; it’s for charity, fine, but really just seems to have been banged up quickly as a pandemic money spinner whilst books are selling well. Hardly a topic to dwell on, totally incoherent next to the deeper content, and quickly dated and much more suited to the magazine I mentioned above.
