Two men who each like her - one is wealthy, sleeps around and doesnt care about his family, the other is the strong silent type who obviously has a past. Violinist Isabel has been recently widowed and been left a whole lot of debt so, being left The Spanish house is the last resort, after their beautiful home in Maida Vale in London. knight in shining armour, Byron Firth who works for Matt but knows exactly what kind of man he is and attempts to help Isabel through the mess she finds herself in.

I normally take to one or more of her characters, especially the main players, however, I didn't find this the case in this story.Moyes even creates a scene where our boy Firth emerges from swimming in a lake with his muscular torso gleaming and his hair slicked back - sending our widow's heart racing!

Out of the blue, she inherits a rundown property in the countryside, the Spanish House, from a distant relative and uproots her family to live there.Când Isabel primește moștenire Casa Spaniolă, aflată într-un satuc, de la o rudă îndepărtată și primește vestea că este singura ei șansă de a-și putea reveni financiar, plăti datoriile și întreține copiii, ia decizia de a se muta acolo, dar nu știe că această casă este aproape o ruină, râvnită însă cu ardoare de cei care îi îngrijiseră ani de zile unchiul, în schimbul unei promisiuni de a o moșteni. Moyes' novel Foreign Fruit won the Romantic Novelists' Association (RNA) Romantic Novel of the Year in 2004. I have often found books with a lot of hype surrounding them to be a bit disappointing when I get around to reading them, as was also the case with THE HUSBAND'S SECRET by Liane Moriarty. As Matt attempts to drive Isabel and her family away from The Spanish House things begin to unravel very quickly and soon result in a dangerous obsession. Even though the incompetencies of Isabel frustrated me a lot, I can resonate with her because her music is her only power and sometimes those artsy minds dedicated their souls to create new compositions and they slowly separate from the responsibilities and obligations of real life.

So I’m sticking with my three still poignant, heartfelt story with resonating characters deserved better ending stars! While I didn't like Isabel or Matt - both we're a bit too one-dimensional - the rest of the characters, from Byron to Kitty to the Cousins, seemed more interesting and likeable. bet kažkiek nuspėjama 😌 lengvam skaitymui pats tas, bet man norėjosi daugiau veiksmo, ir žinoma meilės naktyje. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Später, so hatte ich den Eindruck, versuchte sich Jojo Moyes zu verändern, sowohl thematisch als auch im Schreibstil. Initially, my heart totally broke for the delightful Isabel but watching her blossom and heal was just wonderful. I got through it in 4 hours so it is a good story, it just isn't her strongest although still a good tale. All for the deeds of his house when he passes on, which should be soon they think, as he has no family.
