Description

George Gordon, 6th Baron Byron was one of the most notorious literary figures of the early nineteenth century, known for his poetry, love affairs, adventures in Europe and flamboyant lifestyle. Having worked on the ground-breaking case of Radmacher v Granatino (concerning a German prenuptial contract), she has unique expertise in restricting access to wealth (via nuptial agreements) or unlocking it.

Rather, Brand’s story brings to the forefront a series of eccentric and fascinating figures who each have their own remarkable stories, but who have perhaps since been eclipsed by the reputation of their more famous descendant. The Cambridge alumnus was formerly the head of Winckworth Sherwood’s family team for five years before joining Boodle Hatfield’s team in 2017, where ‘she has seamlessly established herself within the firm’ and is now head of department. In 2021 she contributed alongside historians including Simon Schama and Bettany Hughes to What is History, Now? I started producing prints of my originals a couple of years ago as I felt art should be affordable to all and can offer a print at a much cheaper cost than an original piece. clients adore her and she's also no-nonsense; she's very good at giving realistic and proper advice to clients in a very palatable way, which is a bit of an art'.

Emily Brand is also representing an entrepreneur who is resisting a set aside application in the High Court relating to a divorce settlement that was concluded several years ago. With Emily on your side you feel as if you have an advantage over the other side even before the case begins. Part of what I love about painting and altering colour is the ease at which an image can be changed from one moment to the next, how a change in colour or light can give a completely different feel to the end piece. Luckily for us, so does Sarah Dent, who has reviewed for the blog Emily Brand's game-changing family study of the Byrons. Her work takes her from the chat up lines of Restoration libertines to Georgian sex manuals and the novels of Jane Austen.

Emily Brand is an author, historian and genealogist specialising in social history and romantic relationships during the long 18th century. Seeing how wars and upheavals like these affected the life of one family gives a feeling of immediacy that is not always present in historical accounts, and illustrates both the impact on everyday life and the long-term consequences. She is widely respected for her combination of compassion for her clients’ unique circumstances, and her astute ability for intelligent problem-solving. However, her history is as much caught up with the "fiddle-faddle" of the bon ton, and is all the more enjoyable for it . She joined AEGIS London in 2017 as Underwriting Assistant for Marine and Energy and is studying towards ACII qualifications.

This was the home that a small, pudgy boy of ten from Aberdeen – who the world would later come to know as Lord Byron, the Romantic poet, soldier, and adventurer – would inherit in 1798. Here Sarah gives us an insight into the exploits of Lord Byron's ancestors, including naval heroics, advice for young ladies, and rebellion. At the beginning of each chapter, for example, there are short narrative passages - perhaps recounting Isabella’s passionate feelings for her lover or evoking a storm at sea - which have an almost cinematic quality to them.
