About this deal

Tisdall evokes a lot of emotion in her writing and makes it easy for you to follow what's going on, even with the more technical side of the hacking world. Thus begins a harrowing journey of survival, as she escapes into the heart of the French Resistance. It reminded me of one of those really good Netflix series that literally gives you the bare minimum when it comes to answers (*cough* Dark *cough*), that literally makes you beg for more.

This book is so indescribingly awesome that I am once again, left in a state of shock and disbelief! At times, it felt like the story was a little long-winded or rambling (kind of like my review, thanks for noticing). Occasionally, the dialogue is almost indistinguishable from the narrative and not quite believable for teenagers. My first time reading Maeve Binchy and a companion read with my dear friend Karina, Echoes is a lovely introduction to this author. However, our questions, ultimately, are not answered; the book ends with no real explanations, and left off as a bit of a cliff-hanger, so I am REALLY hoping there is a sequel in the works. Maybe that was partially a personal thing as I really wanted to know what was going to happen next and I really wanted more answers, so maybe my brain just wanted to skip everything else, but the pacing felt off to me.

I got sent this book in exchange for a honest review, all my opinions are my own and thank you so much to the publishers for sending me this book! For example, I was told about how Fiona's relationship with her father affected how she acted with male authority figures rather than shown that through her behavior and her actions. Maeve Binchy was born in County Dublin and educated at the Holy Child convent in Killiney and at University College, Dublin. I find it interesting trying to make it in the wild all alone and Miles and Fiona had to work to survive.

All they have to survive is eachother and they discover that them being stranded seems too convienant. And as the two built a new life together, Beata’s past would stay with her in ways she could never have predicted.

Survival has to come first but little hints here and there pull them hither and yon as to what’s real and what isn’t, all while these two teens who really don’t like each other have to learn to get along. Yes, you have fighting skills and know how to stay calm in stressful situations, but you do not have to compare every single scenario with how it related to your training. Chris Steele-Perkins has selected here, from the fragments of a working photographer's life and the archive of a single year - 2001, and the new millenium - images that unashamedly evoke his memories of that year, sentimental, odd, striking and intensely personal. However, I felt they were good enough to cheer on for, and they did pretty well leading this mystery story along. Here are the Surrey hills, New York, Japan, family, Africa, home, solipsistic aide-memoires he has arranged in a chronology that combine to make, for him, a Pandora's box of his recollections of that year. The romance was perfectly paced out and it was a main aspect of the story but still didn't overshadow the thriller/mystery points of the story. And you look beautiful, especially in that dress, with your hair that's been every color of the rainbow. All advice, including picks and predictions, is based on individual commentators’ opinions and not that of Minute Media or its related brands.
