Clarkson read out a snippet of the book, which is due to be released later this month, on Instagram, but he gave little away. The show quickly gained a cult following and evolved into a global phenomenon, known for its thrilling car reviews, outrageous challenges, and entertaining banter between the hosts. It’s clear that even for all its frustrations, Clarkson enjoys farming and it really shows through his writing. Those who are having The Grand Tour withdrawal symptoms may or may not enjoy Jeremy Clarkson’s life on the farm. From the eccentric locals who lend a helping hand to the experts who try to rein in his audacious plans, each person adds their own unique flavour to this extraordinary tale.

Fortunately, there’s help at hand from a large and (mostly) willing team including girlfriend Lisa, Kaleb the Tractor Driver, Cheerful Charlie, Ellen the Shepherd and Gerald, his Head of Security and Dry Stone Waller. Unfortunately I counted three needless passing yet mocking references to transgender people which serve no purpose whatsoever but to simply make you cringe. Clarkson raises a number of issues with farming in the UK that the general public wouldn’t know about, which seem to be quite a bit different to in Australia as the government seems to have more control over what is grown. Since the last book, Clarkson’s enthusiastic schemes for diversification have been met with stubborn opposition from the ‘red trouser bridgade’, and Kaleb and Lisa have had doubts about Jeremy’s plan to build a business empire based on rewilding and nettle soup. He rose to fame as one of the hosts of the immensely popular BBC motoring show, "Top Gear," where his larger-than-life personality, wit, and unfiltered opinions won him a massive following worldwide. It’s easy to read, because it is meant for newspaper readers to have something interesting and entertaining to accompany their coffee and bagel (or Sunday Lunch).

According to the book summary, readers can expect to be regaled with more outlandish schemes from Diddly Squat Farm – the sheep are gone, to be replaced with pigs and ‘psychopathic’ goats – while the cows have been joined by a bull named Break-Heart Maestro. This is the companion book to the TV series, and actually previews it, because it’s the publication of his articles for the Sunday Times.

Enthusiastic schemes to diversify have met with stubborn opposition from the red trouser brigade, defeat at the hands of Council Planning department, and predictable derision from Kaleb - although, to be fair, even Lisa had doubts about Jeremy's brilliant plan to build a business empire founded on rewilding and nettle soup.

There are tidbits of interesting knowledge about farming or the law and how it interacts with farmers but this is never selected into, instead the book prefers to go on raging tirades against Greta Thunberg instead.

His writing style combined humour, irreverence, and deep knowledge of automobiles, making him a standout voice in the automotive journalism industry. Get ready to laugh out loud and be entertained by the wit and escapades of Jeremy Clarkson in The Jeremy Clarkson Diddly Squat Book. Reading it now, it’s interesting to see how geopolitical events influence farming, as well as local decisions.
