About this deal

g. in James Newton Howard’s Noah Visits from the soundtrack for The Village), but on the other hand it doesn’t compromise the general balance – it adds to the sound, but it doesn’t take anything away from it. In fact this headband makes for an uncomfortable listening experience, as it doesn’t distribute the weight very well on the head and is not especially soft either; on top of that, there is relatively low lateral clamping force, so the headphones aren’t sustained by that either and all of their weight goes to press onto the scalp. HIFIMAN He6SE vs HIFIMAN Arya - When it comes to comparing HE6SE to Arya, you know it is going to be a hard one.

What I really appreciate is the detail: HiFiMAN managed to get the driver to convey a superlative level of detail which goes down to the very smallest details you can imagine – the vibrations of the strings, the movement of the bow on the violin, the way the breath moves in and out of the lungs of the singer. But let’s forget that for a moment: the THX AAA 789 outputs around 5 W at 50 Ω and the iFi micro iDSD outputs about 4 W, how much more power do you need? I understand the fact that some people really prefer a leaner, more smooth experience, and that if you're in the studio, you want to do your job for hours in a row, so He6SE, with their ultra revealing overall sound, and sparkly treble may not be a better studio headphone, than the smoother LDC-MX4, but then again, HIFIMAN never market He6SE as a studio headphone, that is more of a personal note, that it would work quite well as one. It’s not as detailed as on many other headphones in this class, but it provides more than enough information. Please give me a listen and allow me to show you what I can do and allow my actions to speak louder than my words.

However if you are after HiFiMan headphones, I would encourage you to audition any of their new(er) offerings like the Edition XV2, HE1000 variants, Arya or Ananda.

I don’t get upset about cables as I usually like to get one I prefer so I’d rather HP companies put all their efforts into the headphones themselves. No headphone I've ever heard really has the life-likeness of the HE1000se; the note quality is highly textured and unique, but HE6se V2 has a larger, more open stage. It's kind of like a live-venue experience, or theatre, where the speakers encompass you, but as with a headphone, the sound feels more intimate, and more detail can be heard. So after 2 weeks and over easily 40+ hours of listening, I’d like to finally share my thoughts and impressions on this legendary headphone’s successor. My ideal signature are that of respectably forward mids and upper bass range with the bass being controlled but with some slight decay. Every opinion expressed is mine and I stand by it, the purpose of this review is to help those interested in HIFIMAN HE6SE find their next music companion.
