After a while it gets sweeter and a incense note starts to appear from the heart of the composition.I can appreciate the oriental mystique Amouage has adopted but I'm not sure they've pegged the western market. Frankincense and Myrrh traditionally smell spiritual and religious but in Interlude, they have been reconstructed to feel contemporary yet sophisticated.I for one loved this scent more and more the more I wore it and couldn't get enough of that "sacred" aura - the incense and precious resins had me spellbound like a genie out of a bottle. But after owning Interlude Man for four years and wearing it on many occasions, I can finally confess to not liking it at all. I had at that time a trip to Crete behind me and had a small bottling of another Amouage fragrance with me on vacation. This shits strong, when I smelled it up close it got in my nostrils almost like was smell essential oils love it this is the real deal. With such thoughts one learns to be able to decide emotionally what applies to one and what does not.

It has delicate green nuances (oregano, bergamot), which likely account for most of the initial sharpness, but it saves this from being cloying. Everything I could read confused me more than I could imagine anything behind the "Blue Beast from the Middle East". The top has lots of herbals but not in an aromatic, more in a very sharp, intensive, a bit sour on my skin way. Eternal notes of leather, agarwood smoke, patchouli and sandalwood in the base add lasting layers of depth and texture.The oregano is very strong and smells like opening a bag of it but after 15 minutes it turns smokey with the beautiful sweet nuances. Furthermore, the base rests on a very smooth, subtle accord of suede which provides a soft, plush cushion for all. Amouage Interlude Man (2012) is one of the more popular Amouage scents for men among members of the "FragBro" sect of the online community, thanks to the hype generated by influencers on Instagram and YouTube reviewers.

First 1 spray of Marfa, then 1-2 sprays of Interlude (otherwise Marfa will drown out the Interlude and there will be some vague soapiness on the skin).
