You may notice ghosting when shooting directly into the sun, usually manifesting as a multiple-color haze or purple blobs. It doesn’t have the heft that many users associate with ‘solid build quality’, but otherwise there’s nothing to complain about here. The actual difference between lenses can be obvious when compared side by side with another lens, but likely as not when viewed in isolation will look perfectly satisfactory. Camera technical details can get complicated quickly, but we all need a place to start before diving into the deep end.

So if you’d normally use f/8 on full frame, the rule of thumb is to shoot at f/4 on Micro Four Thirds. Reproduction in whole or part in any form or medium without specific written permission is prohibited. With smaller sensor formats such as Micro Four Thirds, you simply shoot at larger apertures than with full-frame or APS-C cameras. Not only does it perform smooth aperture changes so there are no sudden jumps in exposure, it also boasts a silent design for enhanced capture of the scene’s audio. Just like f/number iso cannot be compared across different sensor sizes because it's a per unit area quantity and has nothing to do with the signal of the image.

The autofocus is very quick, so there are no cheap/compromised AF actuators in here, and if you switch to manual focus the travel is both very precise and yet very smooth. It’s a little soft wide open due to residual spherical aberration, but improves quickly on stopping down. ASPH made its appearance in September 2015, expanding Panasonic's lineup of prime lenses with a conventional "50mm-like" Micro Four Thirds prime lens. With a DxO Mark lens score of 20 points and a peak sharpness of 7 P- Mpix on the Olympus OM-D E-M1, a 16-Mpix model without an AA filter, the Panasonic Lumix G 25mm F1. The 25mm focal length is equivalent to a 50mm lens on a 35mm format camera and offers the expected 47 degree angle of view.

Trying to think back at this, it's easy I think to grip it too hard, so like a stuck filter if we deform the ring it won't turn. That is covered in the text as well, so hopefully the whole will give an impression of the lens and how it behaves. Thanks for letting me know - if you have time you can try to use aperture mode and shoot the same object with f/1. I have no idea why I would want to lose control over the aperture or shutter speed, both are important to the image.

would obviously be more useful, but in my experience, it doesn't hold up well for night photography, especially long exposures.
