In my opinion I believe "Bound for home" is a great book about the adventures and struggles of Max, Red, and Emi. Before you embark on your publishing journey, take some time to ensure your work is the best it can be.

Clive James passed away a few months after the song was written, just as Emily headed in to the studio to record her recent album, A Dark Murmuration of Words. She articulates the journey from the first signs of his illness, through diagnosis, care and treatment and after his death at their local NHS Hospital. For years her family ‘had been free of nine or ten rooms in the upper earth, while three women shared the exiguous darkness of the basement. This was a book for us to talk about—feelings of abandonment, wanting to belong, what a family means. What I really think: This made me think of Burnford's The Incredible Journey (1960) and the movie version (1963), which I remember watching on the Wonderful World of Disney as a child.From the moment Japanese immigrant Emi walks into the shelter in Maine with her long black hair and bright smile, Max the puppy knows she's meant to be his forever person. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. She is half Asian and her foster mom is also Asian and they talk a little bit about looking different than their friends and neighbors. Of course, Adrian will also need to deal with the fallout from the snake–both the loss of a guiding hand and the hostility from the system.

We first read House-Bound by Winifred Peck in 1985 when, in a feature in the Times Literary Supplement, the novelist and critic Penelope Fitzgerald, Winifred Peck’s niece, chose it as one of the books she would like to see reprinted. There is enough to interest a reluctant young reader, more than enough to absorb an avid older reader. He is not at all concerned because of a simple fact of life: if you know what's coming, the risk can be mitigated or avoided in its entirety. The song took on extra meaning when the pandemic hit, with Emily finding herself stranded in her adopted home in the UK, unable to visit her family back in Australia; but also the realisation that the song has a message that most listeners will be be able to relate to in these times as she sings “Bound for home, we’re all bound for home in the end”.

Adrian faces threats he is aware of; weak but numerous enemies that no one else would even think about challenging. They must survive in the woods and together they help each other through many natural dangers and wild encounters including bears and coyotes.
