Description

Its two-bolt saddle clamp remains level atop a parallelogram linkage pivoting on dry-lube bushings. When weight is added to the post a link compresses the internal spring(s), creating user-adjustable sag, which Redshift recommends should be around 20 per cent of the 35mm total travel. It works in a subtle way, squashing sudden bumps and effectively smoothing incessantly rough surfaces. I found the recommended set-up ideal, but you can tune it to suit your preference. The easiest way to determine your steerer tube size is to use a pair of calipers to directly measure the diameter or take your bike to the local bike shop and they will be able to measure it for you. Take control - customizing your suspension feel to float over obstacles so you can maintain control Stem Details:

Going properly off-road, off-road.cc guru Pat commented: "I put it on and after two normally unpleasantly jarring gravel rides on the rutted towpath in and out of Bath, I was sold. I had to change the elastomers which was a 10-minute job, but after that I've been impressed on every surface I've used it on. It's just a shame it was a couple of days late for the Gritfest Event in Wales. Best method: Use a pair of calipers to directly measure the diameter or take your bike to the local bike shop and they will be able to measure it for you. Any bag that just attaches to the saddle or just attaches to the post is fine. But when you attach to both the post and the saddle you need to account for the relative motion of the saddle to the post. This means that if you cinch down the bag when off the bike it might have some movement when you get on the saddle and compress the post a bit - this might not be a problem but it might be something that is an issue. Sadly I couldn't work out what the effect would be if tyres and pressures were already wider and lower. On my Al road bike, which is pretty buzzy (hence my burgeoning obsession with this) I'm on 28 mm and 70 ish psi. Any lower and a feeling of vagueness like Matt Lucas impersonating Boris Johnson comes in as the speed gets above 35 km/h (descending only, I seldom get a tailwind for that speed on the flat). The bottom of range Michelins might be a factor. So this might help a bit. Improved handling: The suspension system of the stem can help to improve handling and stability, particularly on rough terrain or when riding over bumps and potholes.Alternate method: Use a fabric or paper measuring tape (or print one at https://printable-ruler.net/ ) and measure the circumference of the steerer tube. You will need to remove the compression cap and loosen the two pinch bolts to get access to your steerer tube so be sure you are comfortable in doing so and then reassembling properly. While testing, I would go as far as to say that the stem has transformed the gravel bike and comfort offered when ridden on typical British terrain. they failed at the pivot. You don't want that to happen. Hopefully the different design here isolates them

Measure your current seatpost from the clamp collar to the saddle rail and refer to the chart above to choose your preferred size. If you are unable to measure the length of your existing stem then choose 100 mm. This is one of the most common lengths and tends to be a good fit for most people. Once I received the box from Redshift, I was immediately attracted to the finish of the stem, mainly the fact that it looks like a regular stem. At 264g for the 90mm +/+ 6 degree version, it is a little heavier than what I am used to, but not a deal breaker.

Wahoo Fitness KICKR Bike Review (2022)

Take control - customize your suspension feel to float over obstacles and maintain control over rough terrain Suspension Stem Features Warming to a theme here (& it's a bit warmer than the weather), I found an academic paper (pdf) comparing a Redshift, a TranzX and a standard aluminium stem here: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.mdpi.co... This used - by 2020 standards - narrow tyres and high pressures (23 mm and 116 psi), 77 kg rider, and showed that the TransX equated to dropping the pressure to 102 psi. The Redshift was a lot better, the equivalent being 78 psi. In the drops, with more weight forward, under hard pedalling efforts you can feel the bar give forwards, but it's a small movement and doesn't detract or distract from getting on with the effort.
